The 3 way valve is one of the most basic and the cheapest hydraulic parts you can imagine. Simple to use, perfectly fulfills its role. Where did the name come from? The answer can be found in the construction of the part discussed here, which is as simple as the very explanation of its naming. The name comes from three places to which we will connect a tubes. The valve itself can be both hydraulic, pneumatic, slide and piston. The last one of them will serve to regulate the flow. However, the most common configuration is one in which one hose drains the pressure from the pump, which is separated into two outgoing streams.

The design itself and external design can often be diametrically different. The valve representing the external part of a representative machine would look different than the one intended to be placed deep in the thicket of pipes and valves somewhere inside of the product. Often, models also differ in the durability and quality of materials used in their production process.

The basic feature of the 3 way valve are the previously mentioned 3 ways of liquid outlet, which are the uniqueness of this product. The task of this part is to effectively shut off the flow of water in one pipe while opening the flow in the other two, but also mixing two different liquids from two different tubes into one, or separating the liquid mixed in one tube.

The value of the valve is determined in kvs [m3 / h], which simply means the volume of water that passes through the fully open valve in one hour at a pressure of 1 bar. The 3 way valve can be used to control and regulate heating and cooling surfaces, radiator systems, underfloor heating, cooling and many others. In addition, the 3 way valve is very often equipped with an electric, pneumatic or thermal actuator.

3 way valve is a great and cheap investment that has become the basis for many segments of business over the years. Construction, hydraulics or machine production are just one of the really few segments in which the part discussed here is used. Its advantages and applications could be mentioned for hours. All this makes the 3 way valve a part that you must have somewhere close to you always if you run your own company.

The same issue can sometimes also apply to slider valves, which in this specific case are equipped with 3 different ways of escaping the liquid.
