Front end loader

Front end loader

We live in the days when an industry is full of powerful machines which help do our work and of them is front end loader.

Front end loader is a heavy equipment machine used in construction industry to move or load materials such as for example asphalt, demolition debris, dirt, gravel, snow, wood logs, raw minerals, recycled material, rocks or sand.

Front end loaders are used most of the time for loading materials into trucks, laying pipe, clearing rubble, and digging. Front end loader is not the most efficient machine for digging as it cannot dig very deep below the level of its wheels. Most loaders are wheeled and not tracked, unlike most bulldozers.

Front end loader is built of course with a powerful engine in most of the cases with diesel. Hydraulic components such as for example pumps, motors, and valves. Transmission components are important as well and we can list a few like gearbox, axles, wheels/tracks, pumps, and motors. Engine runs hydraulics and the transmission, and these, in turn, control the front extension like for example a bucket, forks and sweeper to move or lift the materials which we are handling like sand, gravel, cereal, manure and many more. Front end loader is also equipped with wheels or tracks to move the machine.

Front end loader is a type of tractor, in most cases on wheels, sometimes on tracks. It has a front-mounted square wide bucket connected to the end of two arms. It can scoop up stuff from the ground like for example dirt, gravel or sand, and lift it from one place to another. Front end loader is used to move a stockpiled material from ground level and for example, deposit it in a dump truck.

Front end loader part can be a removable attachment or permanently built. Sometimes bucket can be replaced with tools or other devices. The bucket can also be augmented with devices like a bale grapple for handling large bales of hay or straw.

Large loaders, such as the John Deere 844K usually have the only front bucket and are called front end loaders. Small loader tractors are often also equipped with a small backhoe and are called backhoe loaders or loader backhoes.

The largest front end loader on the world is LeTourneau L-2350. Right now these loaders are in production in the Longview, Texas facility. The L-2350 uses a diesel-electric propulsion system similar to that used in a locomotive. Each rubber tired wheel is driven by its own independent electric motor.

There are so many models of front end loaders that one article about it isn't enough. For more pieces of information, we would like to invite you to our other articles.
