Hydraulic filter clogging indicators are devices used to monitor the degree of contamination of a hydraulic filter and signal the need to replace or clean it. Their operation is based on measuring the pressure difference (ΔP) between the inlet and outlet sides of the filter.
When a filter becomes contaminated, the resistance to hydraulic oil flow increases, leading to an increase in the pressure differential. When it reaches a certain level, the clogging indicator sends a signal.
These indicators help prevent hydraulic system failures, increase operating efficiency and extend the life of filters and hydraulic components.
