Load Limiter For Forklift CLG-F

CLG-F control unit is an electronic device to be used in forklifts which are equipped with a boom crane. In this case, the crane's rules have to be applied to the forklift, in order to ensure to work safely. The added boom crane, in fact, causes a center of gravity displacement which could worsen forklift stability when a load is handled. Load and moment measurement are obtained using one or two pressure transducers positionned in the tilt cylinder or, depending on forklift configuration, in the lift cylinder. The measured pressure is compared to the maximum pressure threshold, which was previously acquired in the worst working condition and according to the forklift limits determined by the manufacturer. Using this information together digital inputs status, which identify the working configuration, CLG-F control unit assesses if safety conditions are fulfilled and if the machine can work. That can be done connecting the digital output to the dump valve in order to block the entire machine or using the digital output to block only the dangerous maneuvers.

Measured pressure (differential or single) increases with:

- load weight to lift

- lift speed

- lift height

- load distance from mast

A LED bar on the control unit box is useful to read the real-time handled load percentage compared to the maximum and minimum load set. A status LED is also available for diagnostics.
