The pressure relief valve, also known as the maximum pressure valve or safety valve, has the task of limiting the pressure in a system.
It therefore protects the components and pipes from being subjected to a load above the maximum system pressure.
When the specified pressure is reached, the initially closed valve opens and discharges the excess volume flow from port P to port T into the tank. The pressure relief valve described here has a conical seat. The advantages of this design lie in the absolute tightness and the fast response behavior.
Directly controlled pressure relief valves operate depending on the volume flow. Due to their design, these valves do not open precisely at the set pressure.
