Pressure-reducing valves are used in systems in which a reduced and constant pressure is required for another hydraulic circuit.
Pressure peaks from the consumer are directed to the tank via the leakage oil connection. This means the following for the valve shown.
Free oil flow from P to Reg. When the pressure in Reg reaches the set value, the valve closes the connection from P to Reg to ensure a constant pressure in U.
If the pressure in Reg continues to exceed the set value (external forces),Reg is connected to T to divert pressure peaks to the tank. The integrated non-return valve allows a free return flow from Reg to P.
